It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 5-4-1 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Tampines decided to play creatively at a titanic (15) level. It was an obvious ambition of Grilled to use their divine (+9) (29) ability at attacking on the flanks. The terraces were silenced after 3 minutes when Grilled's Federico Parada put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. After 5 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed Federico Parada to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2. Tampines reduced the lead to 1 - 2 with 10 minutes on the clock when Irwandy Zafir got the best of a ball floated in from the left. After 23 minutes of game time, Brian 'Was Born' Reddy had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Daniel Lee was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

Players in Grilled heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) after 56 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal. Grilled were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. The home crowd was not impressed when Brian 'Was Born' Reddy came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 77 minutes. Grilled were now up 1 - 3. The coach of Grilled was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 77 minutes, Damian Hutter came on for Aw Keng Chuan. Hwang Teck Fu was, after 78 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Daniel Lee made the save. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Gandhik Chitre reluctantly made way for Chan Ze Han on the pitch. Abd El Rahman Abd El Khalek seems to have an uncanny ability to try the unusual. He nearly produced a great goal - unfortunately for Tampines his shot went just wide this time. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 89 minutes, making it 1 - 4. Lim An Keng was noted down as the scorer. The match ends 1 - 4. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

Salahuddin Wafiuddin performed admirably for Tampines. Irwandy Zafir turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Brian 'Was Born' Reddy. On the other hand, Dimitris Germanakos's play was disheartening.
