Grilled 1 - 4 Paradiso

A scorching day at The Cooking Pot, where 71922 spectators were in place for today's match. Tomáš Hořák was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Walter Piloni and Téo Auguin. It was a sunny day and the Technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. Grilled's starters: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, 其材 (Qicai) - Reddy, Teck Fu, Kwang Tse, Khairul, Parada - Thach, Thoroddsen, An Keng.

Paradiso's lineup was: Fu - Bozkan, Jacobsen - Escalante, Duncan, Yeng Eng, Kian Yao, Hermes - Mohd Raimi, Chung, Abdul Fattah.

As the teams prepared to start the match, they both lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Paradiso used their outstanding (10) skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. 1 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Paradiso substitution. Mah Lee Kim came on for Pang Kian Yao. 9 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Grilled was Federico Parada. At this time in the match, Paradiso were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game. Paradiso tied it all up, 23 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by Mah Lee Kim, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Paradiso took the lead after Alex Duncan curved a free kick into the net. 1 - 2 Mah Lee Kim received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 67 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Paradiso fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Paradiso's Ajwad Mohd Raimi made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 74 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse managed a superb strike from the left after 81 minutes that would have left goalkeeper Ang Fu without a chance, had it not hit the post. After 85 minutes, Paradiso's Eliézer Hermes burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 4. The pressing tactics used by Paradiso were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Chia Kwang Tse off the field. Teo Chuan Yong took his place. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Gústav Thoroddsen gave Joe Reece a quick hug as he left the field. Brian 'Was Born' Reddy would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Paulino Trindade entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 1 - 4. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Lim An Keng. Paulino Trindade was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Paradiso player was without a doubt Ajwad Mohd Raimi. On the other hand, Ang Fu's play was disheartening.
