Grilled 6 - 1 Sim(TM)
It had rained all day, but 49419 hardy fans still made it out to
Love Street Stadium.
Oliver Hardy was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Norman Claus and
Ilya van Eupen. The wet pitch made it difficult for technical or quick players to stand out. For once, the players relying on physical strength gained the upper hand. The match took place on neutral ground. The following players took the field for Grilled:

The teams both lined up their players in 2-5-3 formations. Grilled took the lead 12 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
Hwang Teck Fu elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre excelled in some fine tricks that completely confused
Joseph Chung - and the finish was no less spectacular - 2 - 0! With 18 minutes played, Grilled's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
Damian Hutter he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 0. Sim(TM) breathed new life into the game with an attempt to reduce the lead after 24 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball off the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar.
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy could have increased the lead after 33 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Grilled scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Phua Ming Xin after 35 minutes. Sim(TM)'s
Fabrizzio Allijns was shown a yellow card after 36 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Grilled's
Dimitris Germanakos took a knock to the head after 37 minutes, due to a badly executed header. He took a few uneasy steps, but got dizzy and then taken off the field. The player that took his place was
Manuel Vadalà. Sim(TM) reduced the lead after 38 minutes to 4 - 1 as
Rémi Cagnon easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right. It was 4 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
51 minutes into the game, Sim(TM)'s attack got through on the right, but
Raffael Webers couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms. Grilled's
Hwang Teck Fu increased the lead to 5 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 53 minutes.
Lothar Weißbarth of Sim(TM) was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Federico Parada's speed was clear to see after 59 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
Phua Ming Xin who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 6 - 1. 85 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Gústav Thoroddsen came on for
Hwang Teck Fu. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 6 - 1. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
Most important Grilled player was
Mohd Marzuki Khairul.
Manuel Vadalà turned in a dismal performance, however.
Raffael Webers performed admirably for Sim(TM). On the other hand,
Yannick Rambach's play was disheartening.
