Offshore 0 - 6 Grilled

Clouds darkened the skies at The Bank as 47881 spectators turned up for the match. Hubert Siegers was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dave Murray and Jaime Jaramillo. Offshore's starters: Jin Xin - Yeturi, Boon Xin, Minhat, Maslin, Eslahinejad - Da Xin, Jaminet, Izamit, Youn - Jing Chi.

The following players took the field for Grilled: Germanakos - Hutter, 其材 (Qicai) - Trindade, Teck Fu, Keng Chuan, Khairul, Ferzan - Chitre, Ming Xin, Reece.

Offshore Haven fielded a 5-4-1 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. The strategy for Offshore was to use their weak (4) ability to press. Grilled used their divine (+6) (26) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. Gandhik Chitre came close to putting the visiting team one up 7 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but Chiang Jin Xin managed to tip the ball to a corner. Grilled took the lead 19 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. Phua Ming Xin was the scorer. The visitors' Damian Hutter took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 25 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Grilled. Offshore's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle. Tor Eslahinejad of Offshore was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 69 percent of the ball.

Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. 夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 51 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Gandhik Chitre went down after twisting his right ankle after 56 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. This gave Gústav Thoroddsen a chance to take to the field instead. Some fine movement on the left led to a Grilled goal after 61 minutes, making it 0 - 4. Hwang Teck Fu was noted down as the scorer. Joe Reece of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 62 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 5. After 68 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Joe Reece who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 6. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. 74 minutes into the match, Damian Hutter came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 0 - 6. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

Offshore's top performer was clearly Enrique Izamit. Hayden Youn turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's best player was Gústav Thoroddsen. Damian Hutter was a disappointment, however.
