Zebetta entered the field in a 4-4-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled took the lead after 3 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
Orest Tokarz placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 16 minutes in, Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Fong Kok Chuan was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 16 minutes, with his right thigh bandaged.
Leong Chi Chi had already been warming up, and came on for
Fong Kok Chuan. Zebetta's
Leong Chi Chi almost tied things up with 22 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post. Grilled caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 23 minutes into the match.
Joe Reece was able to finish off the move - 0 - 2. 35 minutes into the game, Zebetta had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to solid (7). With 36 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
Gústav Thoroddsen of Grilled to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3. After 36 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Gústav Thoroddsen who increased Grilled's lead to 0 - 4.
Federico Parada of Grilled was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish
Quah Chang Chin, which resulted in a goal making the score 0 - 5.
Joe Reece received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 41 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 6. The Grilled fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. It was 0 - 6 at the break. Grilled had most of the ball, with 76 percent of possession.
A review of the gameplan helped Zebetta get back to a solid (7) organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. 64 minutes into the game, Grilled worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Evandro La Face came on for
Orest Tokarz. After 70 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
Hwang Teck Fu a chance to increase the lead for Grilled, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 7. After 71 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
Evandro La Face to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 8. Zebetta's
Lim Chun Cheng hurt his back 74 minutes into the match, and had to be convinced by the medical team that it was safer not to continue the match. The player that took his place was
Ho Wan Wan. The referee showed Grilled's
Joe Reece the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 78 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 9 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy. After 79 minutes, Grilled's
Chad Thach burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 10. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 5 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 0 - 10. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 78 percent of the time.
Most important Zebetta player was
Low Boon Leong.
Leong Chi Chi on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Gústav Thoroddsen.
Lim An Keng was a disappointment, however.
