Tooners Robbed
Four For Hobson
Grilled took the measure of A5_Paper, and got one hand on the trophy as they ran up 6-0 winners, with
Tim Hobson putting his best foot forward as he defended his starting spot against
Miguel Reed.
Eighteen tetchy minutes had passed when Hobson went for it from an unreasonable distance, and his boldness left A5_Paper goalie Zhu Xi-qi flummoxed. That opened the game up, and wide play by
Tom Pence led to a couple more from Aznan and Hobson in a short seven minutes.
Chen Chiew-Yen, on a yellow after yet more dissent, reminded Grilled of his better side as he ghosted past several defenders to finish, before
Tim Hobson completed his hat-trick and acknowledged for his cross by patting his head and pointing in the American's direction. Pence gleefully returned the gesture with a thumbs-up of his own.
With their job done, Grilled entered party mode, and Hobson padded his resume with a fourth goal that found a gap in the wall off a free-kick. There was then handbags between Musa bin Yub Abdul Majid and
Ricard Machado which got both men booked, which did nothing to alter the all-important result.
