Only Malay first-teamer in Grilled, Aznan is nevertheless the club's most highly-valued player. While detractors call him overvalued, Aznan is without doubt a lock for a midfield or wing spot if healthy. Supposedly prefers playing inside, his skills have ironically led to him being fielded in a less preferred position, where he does however put his fearful acceleration to good use.
Aznan would eventually leave for a club record fee of over S$11 million, and after a stint abroad, he returned to haunt the Birds in the colours of lcfc in the S-League, losing both times. After that, he switched to former national champions, Team Singapore, and would play six times against Grilled, scoring once; ever the true professional, he gave no quarter whenever the teams met.
