There were honours and records aplenty in this very memorable season, chief among of which must be the Birds' feat of a perfect season in II.2, with fourteen league wins out of fourteen. They were no pushovers in the cups either, with their only losses being hard-fought affairs against S-League opposition in Mia San Toa Payoh and Arrogancae. And, if all that were not enough proof of their mettle, they qualified for the knockout stages of both the Trophy of Legends and Supporter Week Trophy in the post-season, each time qualifying as well within the top 0.5% of all international competitors.

An astounding list of achievements, to say the least, particularly given the relatively young age of the starting lineup; while analysts had largely expected the Birds to eventually challenge in the top flight, few had expected them to pull it off so soon - or in such fine style. Chan Ze Han had been impeccable and wise beyond his years as always, but the Birds' dominance could not have happened without the rest of the cast: Vikram Mudaliar, who became the national team's newest striking idol; Moey Xin Seng, who recovered from a massive slump to recover his former imperiousness; Cyril Künzler, whose sharpness from free-kicks never faltered; and all the remaining squad members.

Old experiences for the Birds were instead entirely new for the Farmer Bunnies, who made the next logical progression by picking up two pieces of silverware that were behind only the top tier in prestige - a Division Two championship, and a Challenger Cup. JUtd had set the pace in II.3, having taken five points off the Buns, who had additionally slipped up against Phantasm Hotspurs. A climatic final round had the Buns nose ahead of JUtd to the finishing line, which given that they had also defeated them in the finals of the Emerald Challenger Cup, must have been extremely hard to take for the Jurong mainstays.

The Farmer Bunnies hadn't just been lucky, though, and it was no exaggeration to state that they basically comprised the national side's backline, with Tham Leng Teck, Kwek Yun Jie, Wong Ting Yew and Lau Chang Wan all regulars in the Lions' setup. It was thus a no-brainer for newly-installed head coach Dalibor Kostadinović to concentrate on beefing up the Buns' attack, which however despite his best efforts remained slightly off. He had recruited Nurlan Ablaev and Mushtag Al-Nameeri last season to join Ibrahim Zahran Al-Maashany in the Buns' striking roster, but while fans could say little against any of them - with Mushtag's mercurial displays earning him Player of the Season plaudits - Farmer Bunnies would still wind up searching awkwardly for goals, in more than one high-profile match.

Kostadinović wasn't about to be frugal anyway, and he wouldn't hesitate to hire goalkeeper Kalle Luik for the cup final - a good decision, as it turned out - or a 34 year-old Namdar Zarar just for that additional dash of class at defensive midfielder. There was no neglecting the future either, from the S$9 million paid for Ghanaian youth international sweeper Richard Agyei at campaign's end.

There was just about no way that Grilled International would be able to match up to the Birds and the Buns, and dropped points against K. Olsa Brakel and Manchesthair United FC all but killed their league ambitions, with Black Trapper finally promoting out of the way. Possession would seldom if ever be International's problem, but as with the Farmer Bunnies, the scoring would routinely dry up for them at inopportune moments. Nonetheless, International are if nothing a bundle of raw potential, and the seven-digit sales of Li Xin Chi and Mai Fulei announced the arrival of their Busy Bees academy as a serious operator.
