The Birds again scrambled to a second-place finish despite the sale of their best winger, Ciro Penati, in a campaign that saw Bögengang finally break out of his predecessors' shadows with 18 league goals to grab the Golden Boot. Andorran youth international Marc Pujolràs arrived to beef up the midfield after Penati left, while former heimu XI man Lin Jungui added some local steel to the backline following a midseason transfer.

An opening defeat to Arrogancae was followed by resounding home victories, but the proud record at The Cooking Pot would be lost in a mid-season slump which saw draws to BDSM FC and Changi Genius followed by a high-scoring defeat to newbies are newbies. Bögengang collected twelve of his eighteen from just two teams, heimu XI and newbies, but Grilled astoundingly managed to lose to the latter both times.

A decent cup run was stopped by Joejos78 FC in the Round of 32, as several of Grilled's league opponents went rather further. heimu XI made it to the semi-finals, defeating Changi Genius and then Edbe FC, who had eliminted seluraralc, before losing to eventual Double winners Isle of Flames. Arrogancae, who would defend their league title successfully, also went one round further than the Birds.

Stuttering as they entered the final stages, Grilled rebounded as they smashed heimu XI 6-0 in their highly-controversial penultimate game. This put their former S-League and III.13 rivals in danger of going down, which they did, as Changi Genius extracted revenge for the Cup knockout by scratching out a comeback win in a drama-filled final round that ended with all the clubs at most three points from safety.

There was little time to mourn the departed, though, as Han immediately made his moves for the coming season, ditching captain Valdir Dias Paes, who was pushing 35 years of age. In came the slightly psychotic Canadian ex-international goalkeeper Dexter Stacey, as well as the much more approachable Saudi centreback Qassem Madaini, with Portuguese Alex Fonseca a budget addition to a vintage midfield.
