Frank Öhmo, who had replaced Bakunin midway through the last season, pressed for and got the new custodian he desired to guard Grilled's goal in the S-League. Enter eighteen year-old Clair Harlow, who found the going tough as he shipped goals to Singapore's premier teams.
Grilled peaked prematurely as they held champions Herron and embarked on three successive wins to ride high on the table by the fifth match, and things went steadily downhill from there. Seven losses in eight league matches followed, including a terrible 7-1 downer against Winning Eleven.
