Dinamo Overcharged
Hutter Reminder
Grilled Birds manifested their intent to progress in the AFC ASIAN CUP about as strongly as possible, by burying Kyrgyzstani III.15 opponents FC Dinamo Ivanovka 12-0 in one of their biggest winning margins ever. This was three more than Alan Eagle Eyed had done in the last round, and there were few signs of improvement from Ivanovka, who have yet to win a regular match this season.
Canadian record signing Afsar Rizvi started on the right of central midfield in just his fourth game for his new club, and while he was again Ivanovka's top performer, this was not saying much. Young homegrown Number Nine Petr Avseevich was another one who tried, but most of his time would be spent valiantly in defence, with the Birds barely allowing the Kyrgyzs a sniff.
The tone of the game was set in the third minutes, when Austrian reserve defender
Damian Hutter shovelled it over the top, and
Chad Thach duly shook off his marker to nick it past goalkeeper Jan Esen Jibek Uulu. This dynamic duo would finish with six goals to their names by the final whistle, though the spotlight would be shifted slightly before that, with
Kendell El Khateeb snaking his way through an indecisive defence for 2-0 in the tenth minute.
It was clear that Ivanovka were unfamiliar with head coach Gulchoro Shavkat Uulu's preferred 3-4-3 system, and a must-win tourney match against Grilled Birds was a very bad time to try and gain experience indeed. A
Chia Kwang Tse brace would be next as captain for the day
Darko Andrović found teenaged rightback Petar Lokin not eager to commit, which allowed him all the space he needed to feed Chia from the left. Madagascar defender Herisambany Rakotondradany was made of sterner stuff, but also had dubious acting ability, and an unconvincing tumble in the 29th minute earned him a yellow card.
The goal train continued unabated with four more goals in four minutes right before half-time, with it being
Gandhik Chitre's turn to bookend strikes from Hutter and Thach, which made it three braces and 8-0 by the time the referee mercifully put a temporary end to the slaughter. The FC Dinamo Ivanovka were just waiting to disappear down to the relative safety of the dressing rooms, and one could hardly fault them for not wanting to re-emerge from them!
Well, they did form back up after the break, and with their organizational standards restored, if only for awhile. Their formation was frankly a bad matchup against Grilled's practised 2-5-3, what more with a large discrepancy in individual skill to make up for.
Chad Thach was quite unfortunate to hit it back off the post after some wonderful dribbling to get past two defenders, but
Raúl Himadas put the ball where it belonged after a short recovery, in the 63rd minute.
Everybody knew this was a matter of running up the goal differential by now, for all of Bosnian skipper Adnan Kremić's performative cheerleading of his teammates, and there came
Damian Hutter to claim an unexpected hat-trick in the 75th minute, after successive optimistic strikes some fifty seconds apart got past an Uulu who was basically going through the motions by now.
Chad Thach was not to be denied his treble either, and he would achieve it from a lucky deflected header, three minutes on.
