Trinidad and Tobago Division Two leaders E-L-E-P-H-A-N-T handed Grilled's second XI their second spanking in as many weeks, at their aptly named 60000-seater Elephant Stomping Grounds stadium. The Elephants' best midfield gave no quarter and completely dominated possession, leaving it to yet another one of Grilled's youth wingers to grab a souvenir goal.
Cheung Huel-sheng's rust was evident when he flapped wildly at a probing cross coming in from Pompiliu Luchian on the right side, barely changing its flight path. Norwegian midfielder Tim Berg outmuscled
Weng Seng-Huat while attacking the ball, crashing it into the unguarded net.
Things went downhill from there for Grilled, as Luchian added a second after ghostly by Bona. Pablo Paiaro rounded Huel-sheng after a questionable pass from Alcántara went astray and was knocked to his feet, and Luchian made it four in the 32nd minute thanks to an alert layoff by Spanish striker Musa Rashid.
Italian winger
Ciro Penati came close to repeating his solo magic against the Elephants when he lost Pablo Paiaro with a stunning turn of speed, but Belgian sweeper Jack Mayeax managed to herd him to one side, whereby Swiss goalie Jerry Schären successfully dove for the ball.
The Elephants' distinctive purple shirts were all over Grilled, and Mayeax embellished an excellent defensive performance by climbing high to convert another cross by the outstanding Luchian, whom was simply too much for Alcántara to handle. Grilled did well with their first substantial move of the day, however, and a series of accurate passes ended with a touch to Chowdhury by Mirchev. The English lad impressed with his subtlety of control with the outside of his boot, as he curled an unreachable effort past Schären.
The hosts were not done yet, and after Seng-Huat got a caution for a comically late tackle on Rashid, the Spaniard showed off his dribbling abilities with a late brace to wrap up the one-sided game.
