Turbo Sharks entered the field in a 5-4-1 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled's
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 3 minutes. 0 - 1. After 16 minutes, Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. It emerged that
Vijay Das had hurt his right foot after 19 minutes, which led him to abandon the game.
Gregg Leong had already been warming up, and came on for
Vijay Das. With 20 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 0 - 3 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy. With the scoreboard showing that 30 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Phua Ming Xin came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from
Federico Parada after 34 minutes, and prevented Grilled from going up another goal. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.
Grilled increased their lead after 53 minutes when
Gústav Thoroddsen broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. In a rapid move 70 minutes into the match,
Federico Parada of Grilled lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
Joe Reece who easily hit it home to make it 0 - 5. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Grilled's
夏 (Ha) 其材 (Qicai) managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 0 - 6
Federico Parada of Grilled took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 76 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 7. Against a lesser team, Grilled could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 77 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Damian Hutter off the field.
Radovan Jaška took his place. With 82 minutes played,
Phua Ming Xin nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Phua Ming Xin gave
Evandro La Face a quick hug as he left the field. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 3 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 0 - 7. Grilled had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.
Sharks's top performer was clearly
Ryker Tran.
Li Loong Chi on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt
Gústav Thoroddsen.
Radovan Jaška turned in a dismal performance, however.
