The teams stopped and stared at each other - it was like they were looking in a mirror, since they both lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Oh, it's a stupendous shot on goal! A Caravaggio! A Michelangelo! A Venus on the Half Shell! 3 minutes into the match and
Gústav Thoroddsen has created art for the ages for Grilled, putting them ahead 1 - 0. Oh, I'm weeping. I can't stop my eyes.
Orest Tokarz increased Grilled's lead to 2 - 0, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. After 12 minutes,
Gústav Thoroddsen put Grilled ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. After 13 minutes,
Frederik Ploiner sprinted between the opposing defenders and laid the ball off to
Kai Davidson, whose shot was saved by the keeper. 17 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as
Gústav Thoroddsen ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 4 - 0 for Grilled. At that,
Gústav Thoroddsen was noted down for a hattrick! Grilled solidified their lead at the 26 minute mark, as
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 5 - 0. With 30 minutes played, Tobiego showed they hadn't given up and were able to reduce the score to 5 - 1 when
Klemens Silberfeld got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 39 minutes on the clock after
Florin Wienert's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Tobiego player a yellow card though. It was 5 - 1 at the break. Now to our celebrity commentator for a hot take. Over to you, Snoop!
Mohd Marzuki Khairul should probably have put his team up another goal after 55 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
Wulf Angele kept the visitors in the game. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Orest Tokarz reluctantly made way for
Evandro La Face. Grilled added another goal to their lead as
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy struck home for 6 - 1 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. After 75 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Evandro La Face might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Wulf Angele made a spectacular save. 85 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Gústav Thoroddsen gave
Phua Ming Xin a quick hug as he left the field. The fourth official announced that there would be 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 6 - 1. Let's go to the Twittersphere to see what the fans think of the game so far! says Grilled's best player was
Brian 'Was Born' Reddy. Good thing
Dimitris Germanakos isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. The most outstanding Tobiego player was without a doubt
Frederik Ploiner. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Thorsten Hangel seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
