With clinical precision, the cross from winger Paulino Trindade found its way to Joe Reece's head, and a screaming header gave Grilled a goal after 23 minutes played. The scoreboard read 0 - 1. After 31 minutes of play, Luis 'Hulk' Oliveira evened things up for Luxembourg with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1. Always quick and a menace to his opponents, Mateo Greisch got through after 33 minutes, but the keeper deflected his shot and a defender took care of the rebound. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when Paulino Trindade was unable to give the visitors the go-ahead goal after his attack from the left in minute 34. Luxembourg's opponents know to be wary of Greg Weiland's speed, but it made little difference as he blew past the defense 38 minutes into the match. Only the keeper could stop him - and he did with a perfectly timed dive! Grilled were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up coming through the center. After 42 minutes, Grilled's Joe Reece made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 1 - 2. I've not seen anything like it before. After 50 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defense allowed Aw Keng Chuan to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 3. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Paulino Trindade was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 52 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
