Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Mayuyu AKB48 lined up in a 4-4-2 formation. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+3) (23) level with that tactic. Mayuyu were mostly trying to use their divine (+2) (22) skill at attacking on the flanks.
Chad Thach gave Grilled the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0 Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Chad Thach squirmed through their central defence after 10 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. 13 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Chia Kwang Tse broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Grilled. With 26 minutes played, Grilled's
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. After 27 minutes
Hunor Inczédi seized on an opportunistic attack from the right, and scored for Mayuyu making it 3 - 1. Halftime score was 3 - 1. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 76 percent of possession.
Joe Reece unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. Coming from the right,
Joe Reece almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. The home side's
Joe Reece came close to extending the lead 70 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
Philip Boestlinger managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Grilled's
Gústav Thoroddsen had an excellent opportunity after 71 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! After 76 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 4 - 1. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan gave
Federico Parada a quick hug as he left the field.
Gústav Thoroddsen would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Evandro La Face entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. Cheers filled the stadium as
Joe Reece broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 1 to Grilled. The referee showed Mayuyu's
Joonas Ahola the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Despite hurting his right foot at the 90 minute mark,
Aw Keng Chuan decided to keep playing. The match ends 5 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 78 percent of possession.
Grilled's best player was
Orest Tokarz.
Federico Parada was a disappointment, however. Most important Mayuyu player was
Antonio Olivieri. On the other hand,
Philip Boestlinger's play was disheartening.
