Controlar started the game in a 3-5-2 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. After 8 minutes, Grilled's Chia Kwang Tse made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. The visitors' Chia Kwang Tse took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 20 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Grilled. Controlar's Hesam Ferdos cut towards the middle after 21 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 2. Due to some great work on the right wing Controlar's 歐 (Au) 魏利 (Weili) was able to even the score after 30 minutes to make the score 2 - 2. Grilled took the lead 31 minutes into the game, making the score 2 - 3 after some elegant movement down the middle. Gústav Thoroddsen was the scorer. Grilled's Orest Tokarz got himself booked for a foul. 2 - 3 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 54 percent of the ball.

Controlar's Paulino Faladoiro was shown a yellow card after 47 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. After 65 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for Egemen Dinçer Ferzan who increased Grilled's lead to 2 - 4. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Grilled coach let Damian Hutter replace Aw Keng Chuan after 65 minutes. As Aw Keng Chuan left the field, the coach signaled to Joe Reece to be the new set pieces taker. Controlar's Ng Yi Ping had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to David Ramos who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. Controlar's Pau Calleja got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 3 - 4. 71 minutes into the game, 歐 (Au) 魏利 (Weili) came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. 72 minutes into the game, Grilled were awarded a penalty and Joe Reece was able to increase the visitors' lead to 3 - 5 rolling the ball in by the right post. Following a nasty collision in the 74, Controlar's Tan Keng Kwang complained of a damaged shoulder. He was advised against continuing the game. This gave Tong Yi Chuan a chance to take to the field instead. 75 minutes into the match, Joe Reece came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Mohd Marzuki Khairul would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Lim An Keng entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Gústav Thoroddsen gave Evandro La Face a quick hug as he left the field. The referee announced 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 3 - 5. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Controlar's best player was Hans Hendrik Biskopstø. Ng Yi Ping turned in a dismal performance, however. Chia Kwang Tse performed admirably for Grilled. Egemen Dinçer Ferzan on the other hand, had a terrible day.
