The teams had chosen different formations for the match. The home team, Grilled Birds, went for a 2-5-3, while Meet Your Maker has decided to play a 5-3-2 lineup. Grilled used their utopian (19) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. A titanic (15) level of counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of MYM. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they directed a break on the wing into the center of the park. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for Joe Reece to get the go-ahead goal with 23 minutes played, but the shot hit the crossbar. Kevin de Bruyne's fine footwork caused nothing but headaches for Chia Kwang Tse. The keeper wasn't fooled however, and confidently scooped up the ball. After a fine move down the middle Chia Kwang Tse nearly put the home side one up with 35 minutes played. His final touch escaped him though and the keeper smothered the ball. MYM's Divock Origi was shown a yellow card after 39 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. Making his way up the middle after 41 minutes, Phua Ming Xin almost managed to sneak a goal past the visitors' keeper, but Thibaut Courtois was ready and blocked it to keep the score level. A counter-attack by MYM after 42 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but Niki Larsson, coming in on the left, waited too long to shoot. MYM almost scored after a counter-attack 44 minutes into the match, but Vincent Kompany took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side netting. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 68 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. Gandhik Chitre came on for Chad Thach. 46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Chia Kwang Tse gave Lim An Keng a quick hug as he left the field. Grilled could have put themselves ahead after 56 minutes but Orest Tokarz mishit a volley on a ball coming in from the right. Many thought Orest Tokarz ought to have been awarded a penalty 64 minutes into the match, as he went down trying to beat Thibaut Courtois after an attack through the middle gave him the one-on-one opportunity. After 65 minutes, a well-worked counter-attack by MYM on the right gave Eden Hazard an easy opportunity in front of the goal. He duly converted to make it 0 - 1. Grilled made it 1 - 1 as Gandhik Chitre knocked the corner kick to Damian Hutter who whipped a low drive in off the far post. Gotta love friendly woodwork! Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. Grilled's Orest Tokarz tried to break through the middle repeatedly, but the visitors' defenders were just too alert. Some great play up the middle by Grilled led to a chance for Phua Ming Xin to get the go-ahead goal with 74 minutes played, but the shot hit the crossbar. After 77 minutes, Grilled's lack of experience resulted in the team's loss of their edge at the end of the game. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Enrique Baena off. Egemen Din�er Ferzan took his place. Grilled's Mohd Marzuki Khairul tried to break through the middle repeatedly, but the visitors' defenders were just too alert. MYM's counter-attacks were lethal to the opposing defense, allowing Jeremy Doku to score easily from the right side for 1 - 2. The fourth official announced that there would be 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 1 - 2. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by Damian Hutter today. Most important MYM player was Thibaut Courtois. Good thing Niki Larsson isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
