A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Joe Reece bringing the lead up to 2 - 0. Luciano Martín Escasany showed that GOUDENPLOEG weren't done, putting the ball in the net after an opportunistic attack from the right side 10 minutes into the game. Enrique Baena earned himself a loud roar from the fans as he seemed to come out of nowhere with 16 minutes played to intercept the ball and put it in the back of the net for Grilled. 3 - 1. A great save by keeper Saner Özkılıç with 34 minutes gone kept the visitors in the game after Joe Reece struck from the left with a real cannonball. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, GOUDENPLOEG's Yaro Vander Sleyen got himself booked. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1. Now to our celebrity commentator for a hot take. GOUDENPLOEG kept trying to force their way through on the right side and Lolke Pijpstra got his chance after 61 minutes, but the home side's defense held their position and stopped the attack. GOUDENPLOEG managed to reduce their deficit as Šime Malenica finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the home team's defense after 62 minutes. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. With 71 minutes played, GOUDENPLOEG showed they hadn't given up and were able to reduce the score to 4 - 3 when Pablo Fabian Mamani got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. With the match clock reading 74 minutes, the inexperienced Grilled team fell into disarray. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. Cheers filled the stadium as Phua Ming Xin broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 5 - 3 goal for Grilled. As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution. Joe Reece reluctantly made way for Chan Ze Han.
