Grilled 3 - 0 Tampines

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 22350 to The Pragmatic Elegant Next-gen Intricate Stadium. 和也 (Kazuya) 湯浅 (Yuasa) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Abraham 'Labant' Pelleboer and Tom Helmsley. The match took place on neutral ground. Grilled's starters: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, Hutter - Ferzan, Thach, Kwang Tse, An Keng, Parada - Reece, Khairul, Tokarz.

Tampines fielded: Jie Wei - Brown, Wen Jin, Long Kok, Zarif, Rafiqin - Patil, Abdul Hamid, Keng Shi - Rong Feng, Yao Seng.

Grilled Birds started the game in a 2-5-3 formation, whereas Tampines Phoenix F.C. lined up in a 5-3-2 formation. For their match strategy, Tampines had decided to use their divine (20) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Grilled's Damian Hutter skillfully knocked a pass over the top after 25 minutes, and that was received by Joe Reece who just managed to slot it past the opposing goalkeeper for 1 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Mohd Marzuki Khairul increasing the lead to 2 - 0. With 36 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Tampines resulted in a counterattack that set Chong Yao Seng free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. After 38 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Tampines found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to weak (4). Mohd Marzuki Khairul increased the lead for Grilled to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! It was 3 - 0 at the break. Grilled had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Tampines was able to get his message across, and raised Tampines's organisation to solid (7). Mohd Fikri Abdul Hamid would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Ng Yun Shi entered the game for Tampines as the match clock showed 60 minutes. As Mohd Fikri Abdul Hamid left the field, the coach signaled to Ng Yun Shi to be the new set pieces taker. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Tampines substitution. Peh Li Han came on for Che Mirza Rafiqin. After 74 minutes, the defensive line of Tampines created a counterattack through the middle that gave Chen Rong Feng a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Tampines coach decided it was time for a substitution. Chen Rong Feng reluctantly made way for Baihaqi Ilham Abd Rahim on the pitch. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 1 minute beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 3 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Federico Parada. Damian Hutter on the other hand, had a terrible day. Tampines's top performer was clearly Israel Brown. However, Guan Wen Jin made a disastrous appearance.
