The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 19504 had shown up at The Pragmatic Elegant Next-gen Intricate Stadium for the match. Gian Luigi Nocerino was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Zavareh 'Zefir' Amir Sadeghi and Dương Lai. The match took place on neutral ground. Grilled's starters: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, Hutter - Ferzan, Thach, Kwang Tse, An Keng, Parada - Reece, Ming Xin, Tokarz.

The following players took the field for Atlethic: Loong Boon - Velichkov, Hechtermans, Dong Lee - Vempalli, Kim, Mbola, Liang Seng, Dermendzhiev - Echave, Mariconti.

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Atlethic Pi has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their mythical (17) level with that tactic. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 14 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from Phua Ming Xin, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Federico Parada got himself booked. The manager of Grilled was not happy. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Grilled solidified their lead at the 24 minute mark, as Orest Tokarz dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. Grilled's Aw Keng Chuan had an excellent opportunity after 25 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! Federico Parada was doing a great job on his wing, sending in brilliant passes to his teammates in the middle, but Egemen Dinçer Ferzan seemed unable to profit from this excellent service. Chia Kwang Tse had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 35 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. The head of Javier Echave connected with a corner kick after 39 minutes, and the ball ended up with Lee Liang Seng of Atlethic who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 2 - 1. A cross coming in on the right hand side left Elvis Kim alone in front of the goal after 40 minutes but his shot was woeful. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 60 percent of the ball.

It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Cheers filled the stadium as Egemen Dinçer Ferzan broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 1 to Grilled. Coming in on the left, Javier Echave did everything right to get a goal for Atlethic after 72 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper. Coming from the right, Chia Kwang Tse almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. With 79 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 4 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Joe Reece, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After 80 minutes, a deliberate handball from Grilled's Federico Parada was judged to be his second bookable offence, and he was sent off. As Federico Parada left the field, the coach signaled to Aw Keng Chuan to be the new set pieces taker. The Grilled captaincy was handed to Lim An Keng. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 4 - 1. Grilled had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

Grilled's top performer was clearly Lim An Keng. Damian Hutter on the other hand, had a terrible day. Atlethic's best player was Shravan Vempalli. However, Tan Dong Lee made a disastrous appearance.
