Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Mayuyu AKB48, the formation of choice was 4-4-2. Grilled tried to focus their attacks down the middle, taking advantage of their extra-terrestrial (16) level with that tactic. Mayuyu were mostly trying to use their divine (+4) (24) skill at attacking on the flanks. After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
Federico Parada scored for Grilled putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 19 minutes. After 30 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Egemen Diner Ferzan gave the Grilled supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. Grilled solidified their lead at the 33 minute mark, as
Phua Ming Xin dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. With 37 minutes played, Grilled's
Phua Ming Xin almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.
Joonas Ahola would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Gilbert Stepp entered the game for Mayuyu as the match clock showed 48 minutes.
Chad Thach could have increased the lead after 48 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. After 51 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Joe Reece might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Philip Boestlinger made a spectacular save. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Orest Tokarz squirmed through their central defence after 57 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. After 79 minutes,
Chad Thach suffered a slight injury to his right calf muscle. However, it was not enough to stop him from continuing the game. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Orest Tokarz increasing the lead to 5 - 0.
Joe Reece was unable to continue, following a slight injury to his left knee after 83 minutes. This gave
Gandhik Chitre a chance to take to the field instead.
Phua Ming Xin could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 84 minutes. As the 89 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Orest Tokarz reluctantly made way for
Bilal Mohammad Harun on the pitch. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Damian Hutter off the field.
Ibnou Balde took his place. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 5 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 71 percent of the ball.
Lim An Keng performed admirably for Grilled.
Ibnou Balde on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Mayuyu player was without a doubt
Gerardo Ravarotto. However,
Luis Bique made a disastrous appearance.
