Controlar fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. Grilled used their extra-terrestrial (16) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. 5 minutes into the game
Chad Thach could see that the opposing goalie was out of position and tried an unexpected lob that the keeper just barely reached. The rebound went to
Phua Ming Xin who failed to hit the target. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
Orest Tokarz was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 6 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! Grilled took the lead after 12 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
Chia Kwang Tse placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. A drive down the left side allowed
Joe Reece to get in close and score another goal for Grilled after 24 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2.
Chia Kwang Tse of Grilled was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 27 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Grilled's
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan reached
Chia Kwang Tse's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 0 - 3. The home team's supporters got excited again when
雅人 (Masato) 江連 (Ezure) broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 1 - 3. 39 minutes into the match, Controlar's
Tan Keng Kwang collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 2 - 3. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 55 percent of the ball.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
Chia Kwang Tse was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 50 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. 57 minutes into the match,
Aw Keng Chuan came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The crowd roared in delight as
Hesam Ferdos finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Controlar 63 minutes into the match. 3 - 3. Grilled's goal to make the score 3 - 4 came via a questionable penalty, but
Federico Parada struck it home without a second thought.
Federico Parada came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
Pedro Vasco Conceição Correia but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
Orest Tokarz would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Bilal Mohammad Harun entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. 89 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Gandhik Chitre came on for
Joe Reece. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. Controlar's
David Ramos put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 4 - 4 with 90 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. The match ends 4 - 4. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
Controlar's best player was
雅人 (Masato) 江連 (Ezure). On the other hand,
Wong Lai Heng's play was disheartening. Grilled's top performer was clearly
Lim An Keng.
Bilal Mohammad Harun on the other hand, had a terrible day.
