A 2-5-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled saw most attack opportunities on the wings by using their titanic (15) ability to push the attack in the right direction. Players in Grilled heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. Grilled's
Chia Kwang Tse managed to lose the defenders as he burst through the right side and scored, putting the visitors ahead, 0 - 1. Munich's
Ernst-Josef Deisz was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 20 minutes. The away team's
Lim An Keng took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 30 minutes increasing Grilled's lead to 0 - 2. The game had been going for 33 minutes when
Chia Kwang Tse broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3 for Grilled, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Joe Reece somehow managed to break free of his man on the left wing and only needed a relatively easy finish to bring Grilled's lead up to 0 - 4. Halftime score was 0 - 4. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Never2L8 tank top. I've not seen anything like it before.
Chad Thach came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but his attempted chip over
Siegbrand Freitag just kept rising and landed in the relieved crowd. The home fans looked somber as they watched their team give up another goal, this one coming from their right as
Lim An Keng put one through the keeper's legs. 0 - 5 after 54 minutes. Munich supporters found their voice 57 minutes in as good work down the right got the ball to
Luitger Langereihe who reduced the visitors' lead to 1 - 5. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave
Federico Parada a quick hug as he left the field. After 60 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Gandhik Chitre off.
Orest Tokarz took his place. Munich reduced the lead to 2 - 5 after 61 minutes when
Luitger Langereihe got the best of a lazy ball floated in from the left side. 66 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 2 - 6 as
Chan Ze Han finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular bicycle kick. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot from the right by
Lim An Keng beat the keeper with 68 minutes played, preventing Grilled from going up another goal. As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Joe Reece reluctantly made way for
Ibnou Balde. It was announced by the fourth official that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 6. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 57 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
Munich's best player was
Ernst-Josef Deisz. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Siegbrand Freitag today.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Damian Hutter seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
