Meow Meow 6 - 2 Grilled
It was a scorching day at the stadium today. For some players the sunny weather was bad news. It made Powerful and Quick players a bit sluggish. For Technical players, it was instead an advantage, allowing them to shine on the pitch. Lineup:

The following players had been selected:

Ophelia Is My Cat started the game in a 5-3-2 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3. Like the adage Using their extra-terrestrial (16) skill, Grilled pushed their attacks towards the wings.
Hein Calberson was in the clear after breaking through the offside trap following a Meow Meow counter-attack from the left with 9 minutes played. His neat finish made the score 1 - 0. Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposing area -
Chia Kwang Tse managed to kick one of them into the net for 1 - 1 after 14 minutes. Grilled were determined to attack down the sideline and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favor of the wings.
Leoncio Alemparte showed why he is feared on the counter-attack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for Meow Meow after 17 minutes to make the score 2 - 1. With 19 minutes played, the visitors almost leveled the score.
Chan Ze Han shot a hard curved free kick, but it struck the post. Meow Meow's
Lubomír Doležel was delighted to score as he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing keeper and into the net, following some good attacking movement on the right wing. 3 - 1 after 24 minutes.
麦 (Mai) 贤慈 (Xianci) was first to reach a long ball launched through the center from Meow Meow's defense 31 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the keeper to make the score 4 - 1. 4 - 1 was the halftime score. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 68 percent possession in this half was spot on!
Meow Meow's defense sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counter-attack with 50 minutes gone, but
Logan Ault's finish was met by the firm hands of the keeper. The goal to make it 5 - 1 was scored by
Lubomír Doležel with 54 minutes on the clock, following an opportunistic counter-attack down the middle by Meow Meow. After 60 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Mohd Marzuki Khairul off.
Federico Parada took his place. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Gandhik Chitre reluctantly made way for
Orest Tokarz. Grilled never say die, and though it wasn't a pretty goal,
Joe Reece offered the visiting fans a glimmer of hope after 73 minutes. That makes it 5 - 2. 85 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Joe Reece gave
Ibnou Balde a quick hug as he left the field. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 beyond the regular 90 minutes. Meow Meow showed their counter-attacking skill 90 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with
Leoncio Alemparte scoring an easy goal for 6 - 2. The match ends 6 - 2. Now to our celebrity commentator for a hot take. Over to you, Snoop! The most outstanding Meow Meow player was without a doubt
Samuel Routhier. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Vernon Matta sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Damian Hutter seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
