The teams had chosen different formations for the match. The home team, Grilled Birds, went for a 2-5-3, while Le Mans 72 has decided to play a 3-5-2 lineup. Using their titanic (15) skill, Grilled pushed their attacks towards the wings.
Damian Hutter still has a lot to learn. For instance, he should know not to make such feeble passes in front of
Abdelhalim Friyakh, who easily scored for Mans, making it 0 - 1. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Lim An Keng was just a finger's width away from an equalizer for Grilled with a strike from the left, but
Dagobert Kouassi managed to deflect the shot out for a corner. Mans were great at switching from defense to attack, and after 14 minutes,
Mdrick Martinez swept through the middle on a fantastic counter-attack, making the score 0 - 2. The home club's fans got back into the match when
Joe Reece broke through the visitors' central defense and caught their keeper napping, making it 1 - 2. Grilled's
Gandhik Chitre put his head to a high ball coming in from the right after 40 minutes, but the ball went wide. The Grilled equalizer came after 42 minutes when
Chan Ze Han floated in a free kick making the score 2 - 2 . Mans's coach was furious with
Eudes Bgue after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref. Making his way up the middle after 43 minutes,
Mohd Marzuki Khairul almost managed to sneak a goal past the visitors' keeper, but
Dagobert Kouassi was ready and blocked it to keep the score level. Grilled's
Chan Ze Han was a tricksy little hobbit and made poor
Eudes Bgue look like he had lost his precious. Turns out the precious was in the back of the net - 3 - 2! 3 - 2 was the score after the first half. Let's go to the Twittersphere to see what the fans think of the game so far! says 57 minutes in Grilled probably could have turned their free kick into a shot, but went for a cross instead. Unfortunately,
Mohd Marzuki Khairul jumped too late and the ball was redirected out for a goal kick. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave
Federico Parada a quick hug as he left the field. With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Gandhik Chitre looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Orest Tokarz, though he would have liked to continue. Grilled managed to extend their lead to 4 - 2 when
Chia Kwang Tse slid in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased Grilled's lead to 5 - 2 as
Chan Ze Han finished it off clinically, firing the shot from a terrible angle. One, two, three goals! That completed a hattrick for
Chan Ze Han. AH! AH! AH! After 75 minutes, the Mans coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Mdrick Martinez off.
Sylvain Brizard took his place.
Orest Tokarz had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 77 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Mans fought on, and after 78 minutes,
Eudes Bgue was able to increase the goal tally to 5 - 3 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with a smart lob. As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Joe Reece reluctantly made way for
Ibnou Balde. The fourth official announced that there would be 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 5 - 3. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Never2L8 tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Damian Hutter sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The most outstanding Mans player was without a doubt
Rudy Prost. I can't remember
Dagobert Kouassi ever having a worse night than he just had.
