After 15 minutes, Grilled's Chad Thach made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. 17 minutes in, Patricks appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only weak (4). It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. After the ball was lifted in from the left, Gandhik Chitre was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 20 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. With 21 minutes played, Ger Doyle knocked one home from a counter-attack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 1. Down the middle came Egemen Din�er Ferzan, making a fantastic play that nearly saw Grilled take the lead after 31 minutes, but Brandon Rafferty preserved the tie. The guests took the lead 38 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in Chia Kwang Tse scoring to make it 1 - 2. After 39 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defense allowed Chan Ze Han to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 3. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 3. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 73 percent possession in this half was spot on!

Patricks's coach went over the strategy again during the break, and after that his players had solid (7) organization. Grilled were determined to attack down the sideline and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favor of the wings. Chia Kwang Tse somehow managed to break free of his man on the left wing and only needed a relatively easy finish to bring Grilled's lead up to 1 - 4. The home crowd found their second wind when Ger Doyle scored with a header after an industrious attack from the right, making the score 2 to 4. With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Mohd Marzuki Khairul looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Federico Parada, though he would have liked to continue. After 60 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Gandhik Chitre off. Orest Tokarz took his place. 64 minutes into the game, Patricks seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak (4). After 65 minutes, Grilled's Orest Tokarz burst through the central defense and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 2 - 5. A thrilling play through the middle after 75 minutes gave Grilled's Chan Ze Han a chance to increase the lead, and he happily obliged. The score was then 2 - 6. After 77 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Patricks found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to poor (3). Joe Reece increased the visitors' lead by volleying in a pass from the right. 2 - 7. 85 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Joe Reece gave Ibnou Balde a quick hug as he left the field. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time, they welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 2 - 7.
