Grilled 4 - 5 pashosh
Clouds darkened the skies at the stadium today. They fielded:
Germanakos -
Keng Chuan,
Hutter -
Ferzan,
Thach,
Kwang Tse,
An Keng,
Khairul -
Chitre,
Ze Han,
Reece.
The following players took the field:
Ferreira -
Najdawi,
Cvjetović -
Hellu,
Castanheda,
Schaeche,
Bartenstein,
Al-Lamky -
Zeira,
Aloe,
Ivchenkov.
A 2-5-3 was the choice of the day for both coaches. Grilled were mostly trying to use their titanic (15) skill at attacking on the flanks.
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan tipped the corner kick right to the keeper, who mishandled it, giving Grilled's
Lim An Keng a chance to knock it in for 1 - 0. The visitors didn't give in and, after 19 minutes,
Guido Schaeche got through the home side's central line of defense, rolling in the leveling goal to make it 1 - 1. Maybe
Chia Kwang Tse should join the aquatics team instead. He went down dramatically after 23 minutes, crying out with agony as he fell. The referee was not impressed, though, and showed him a yellow for diving.
Chan Ze Han could have put Grilled into the lead with 30 minutes played, but the free kick went just wide. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to go down the wing instead. The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 31 minutes of hard work with a breakthrough from
Chad Thach, who, all by his lonesome, came out of the right wing and hooked the ball over the visitors' keeper. 38 minutes had passed when Grilled put themselves up 3 - 1 after the visiting defenders lost the ball to
Chan Ze Han, who came up from the left and proceeded to easily go around the goalkeeper and knock the ball home. The home team's fans were upset when, after 40 minutes, the visiting
Roman Ivchenkov broke through the central defense and got the ball past the keeper. 3 - 2 was the score.
Natan Zeira tied the game at 3 - 3 after 43 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right. It was 3 - 3 at the break. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Never2L8 tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. 60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave
Federico Parada a quick hug as he left the field. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Orest Tokarz came on for
Gandhik Chitre. With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Roman Ivchenkov looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Jaden Raghoebar, though he would have liked to continue. The pashosh captaincy was handed to
Dani Bartenstein. pashosh's
Natan Zeira managed to lose the defenders as he burst through the right side and scored, putting the visitors ahead, 3 - 4. Grilled's coach was furious with
Federico Parada after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref.
Jaden Raghoebar somehow managed to break free of his man on the left wing and only needed a relatively easy finish to bring pashosh's lead up to 3 - 5. A spectacular Grilled effort on the right resulted in a goal at the 85 minute mark by
Joe Reece, making the score 4 - 5. As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution.
Joe Reece reluctantly made way for
Ibnou Balde. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 3 minutes of added time, they welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 4 - 5. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Grilled would have 52 percent possession in this half was spot on!
Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Damian Hutter seemed to stumble all over the pitch. pashosh's top performer was clearly
Natan Zeira. Good thing
Assim Abdulbaqy Al-Lamky isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
