Dizzo 2 - 3 Grilled

Weather conditions were fairly good for football at the stadium today. The following players took the field: Fridfeldt - Feyen, Fiano, Farenhout - Marini, Gzbek, Ngasongwa, Marion - Small, Al-Ghafry, Crosia.

Starters: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, Hutter - Ferzan, Thach, Kwang Tse, An Keng, Khairul - Chitre, Ze Han, Reece.

A.C. Dizzo started the game in a 3-4-3 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3. Oh dear - the keeper's made a mess of that one. The crowd was very disappointed after he let Lim An Keng get the go-ahead goal with a speculative shot from the right after 7 minutes. 0 - 1. Given a free kick from an impossible angle, Dizzo went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let Ettore Crosia slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 1 - 1, 10 minutes into the game. Grilled's coach was furious with Chad Thach after he picked up a yellow for saying one too many words to the ref. Dizzo made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left Stu Small completely alone with keeper Dimitris Germanakos, who made a spectacular block. The referee showed Dizzo's Barnaba Fiano the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Egemen Diner Ferzan let loose a good shot after 30 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Let's go to the Twittersphere to see what the fans think of the game so far! says Though it was beautiful soccer, the home crowd did not enjoy Gandhik Chitre's goal after a run down the left with 52 minutes on the clock. Grilled lead, 1 - 2. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. Federico Parada came on for Mohd Marzuki Khairul. With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Gandhik Chitre looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Orest Tokarz, though he would have liked to continue. The visitors' Chan Ze Han took advantage of a mix-up between the home side's goalie and center backs 68 minutes into the match. 1 - 3 for Grilled. Grilled already had the lead, so Joe Reece probably won't be too disappointed that his speculative shot from the right 69 minutes in fell wide of the goal. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Dizzo manager decided it was time for a substitution. Petter Fridfeldt reluctantly made way for Guilherme Duarte Santos Piedade. Oh dear, hide the children! 71 minutes into the match, Barnaba Fiano came down the left flank with a torch in one hand and a sword in the other. He's annihilated the defense and devastated the keeper! Goal for Dizzo, reducing the lead to 2 - 3. Grilled's Chad Thach made it through the home team's defense on the right hand side 75 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded net when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 76 minutes on the clock after Franziskus Marion's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Dizzo player a yellow card though. After 85 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Joe Reece off. Ibnou Balde took his place. It was announced by the fourth official that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 2 - 3. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 58 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

Dizzo's best player was Kamil Ahmed Al-Ghafry. Good thing Sammuel Feyen isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Most important Grilled player was Chan Ze Han. Speaking of stinking up the place, Damian Hutter sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
