Grilled 2 - 4 Sinergy
The crowd turning up at the stadium today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. For strong, physical players the heavy rain was easy to overcome, it was even an advantage given their style of play. Others, such as the quick or technical ones, made bleaker appearances. Starters:

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for a 3-5-2. Grilled were mostly trying to use their titanic (15) skill at attacking on the flanks.
Helmut Romirer had to be alert to tip
Chan Ze Han's fantastic penalty kick over the bar, denying Grilled a chance at the lead. Sinergy's
Petru Dimitriade gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 17 minutes with a superb strike from the right. After 33 minutes Grilled were able to score the equalizing 1 - 1 goal when
Chad Thach picked up a pass coming in from the right and lofted it past the away team's keeper. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 36 minutes on the clock after
Chad Thach's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Grilled player a yellow card though. 37 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Grilled to take the lead after a good ball from the right found
Chad Thach alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. After 38 minutes, a counter-attack by Sinergy was converted into a decent free kick opportunity. However, the indirect free kick play was easily anticipated by the defenders. A textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. 39 minutes into the match Grilled's
Joe Reece was being cautioned by the referee when he blurted out The game had been going for 41 minutes when
Chan Ze Han came in on the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to put away the 2 - 1 goal, giving Grilled the lead. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 54 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
After 52 minutes, the visitors evened the score after
Bernd Wellisch made it through the middle and struck home making it 2 - 2. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Federico Parada came on for
Mohd Marzuki Khairul. After 60 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Gandhik Chitre off.
Orest Tokarz took his place. The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvelous free kick after 66 minutes, but
Dimitris Germanakos made a beautiful one-handed save. After a fine move down the middle
Federico Parada nearly put the home side one up with 72 minutes played. His final touch escaped him though and the keeper smothered the ball. After 76 minutes, Sinergy's lack of experience resulted in the team's loss of their edge at the end of the game. Sinergy took the lead 78 minutes into the game, making the score 2 - 3 after some elegant movement down the middle.
Akli Hdda was the scorer. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. After 89 minutes,
Chia Kwang Tse went down looking for a penalty after a challenge on the left side of the box, but the referee told him to get up and keep playing. The game had been going for 90 minutes when
Akli Hdda broke through on the right, upping the score to 2 - 4 for Sinergy, much to the home crowd's dismay. The match ends 2 - 4. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Never2L8 tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. I can't remember
Damian Hutter ever having a worse night than he just had. Sinergy's best player was
Akli Hdda. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Joe Rissen today.
