Zigge 1 - 6 Grilled

Due to an all-day shower, the spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog. While a boggy pitch like this was an advantage for physical players, it really didn't help those who relied on speed or technique. Starters: Bouillon - Fasanotti, Strand - Sadzio, Sederberg, Grappi, Burnay, Vinstl - Prtola, Alexandersson, Pach.

Lineup: Germanakos - Keng Chuan, Hutter - Ferzan, Thach, Kwang Tse, An Keng, Khairul - Chitre, Ze Han, Reece.

Both teams came out with a similar approach to the match, having chosen to start with a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled saw most attack opportunities on the wings by using their titanic (15) ability to push the attack in the right direction. The referee showed Zigge's Olaf Bertold Sadzio the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 18 minutes into the match left Grilled's Lim An Keng completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. Chan Ze Han came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle, but his attempted chip over Niko Bouillon just kept rising and landed in the relieved crowd. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Grilled's Chan Ze Han put the visitors up 0 - 2 after 31 minutes. The game had been going for 33 minutes when Egemen Diner Ferzan broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3 for Grilled, much to the home crowd's dismay. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. Now to our celebrity commentator for a hot take. Over to you, Snoop! 50 minutes into the game, Zigge wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Thomas Vinstl gave Bob Stedman a quick hug as he left the field. Simon Strand was handed the Zigge captain's armband. The home crowd found their second wind when Vincenzo Grappi scored with a header after an industrious attack from the right, making the score 1 to 3. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. The away team's Chan Ze Han took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 60 minutes increasing Grilled's lead to 1 - 4. After 60 minutes, the Zigge coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Simon Strand off. Yuri Guarini took his place. With Simon Strand no longer on the field, Yuri Guarini stepped up to be the new set pieces taker. As the captain was no longer on the field, Toine Pach took over the role for Zigge. With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Mohd Marzuki Khairul looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Federico Parada, though he would have liked to continue. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution. Orest Tokarz came on for Gandhik Chitre. Federico Parada sent the ball through Benedetto Fasanotti's legs intending to rush around him and collect it with 62 minutes played, but the defender was fast enough to recover from his mistake and he passed the ball out of trouble. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, Zigge's Toine Pach finally got himself booked for a foul. With 66 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 1 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Chan Ze Han. He's already scored two, and with the third, Chan Ze Han has a hattrick! Grilled already had the lead, so Aw Keng Chuan probably won't be too disappointed that his speculative shot from the right 67 minutes in fell wide of the goal. As the 85 minute mark approached, the Grilled manager decided it was time for a substitution. Joe Reece reluctantly made way for Ibnou Balde. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 beyond the regular 90 minutes. Grilled's Egemen Diner Ferzan received a ball slotted perfectly through the home side's central defense after 90 minutes, and chipped it past the helpless keeper to increase the lead to 1 - 6. The away fans won't regret traveling for this one! The match ends 1 - 6. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Never2L8 tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Most important Zigge player was Tommy Alexandersson. Speaking of stinking up the place, Bob Stedman sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Damian Hutter seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
