BronsoN 3 - 8 Grilled
The crowd turning up at the stadium today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. The pitch was a disaster, due to all the rain. This spelled problems for the more sophisticated players, who usually could rely on speed or technique. For those relying on grit and strength, it actually meant an edge. They fielded:
Brøgger -
Kjær,
García-Mesa,
Simonsen -
Jacobsen,
Boysen,
Beşer,
Flahaut,
Jannsen -
Bergmann,
Molokutsko.
The following players had been selected:
Germanakos -
Keng Chuan,
Hutter -
Ferzan,
Thach,
Kwang Tse,
An Keng,
Khairul -
Chitre,
Ze Han,
Reece.
FC BronsoN trundled out to the pitch in a 3-5-2 formation. The visitors, Grilled Birds, chose to start the game with a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled were mostly trying to use their titanic (15) skill at attacking on the flanks. A poorly positioned wall on a free kick after 15 minutes allowed for Grilled's
Chan Ze Han to give the visitors the 0 - 1 lead. The referee showed Grilled's
Aw Keng Chuan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Gandhik Chitre somehow managed to break free of his man on the left wing and only needed a relatively easy finish to bring Grilled's lead up to 0 - 2. Only after several tries were BronsoN able to break through on the left 20 minutes in, getting the ball to
Finn Kjær who cockily put away the goal to make the score 1 - 2. With a shot lofted in from just outside the penalty area 31 minutes in,
Roland Bergmann of BronsoN evened the score to 2 - 2. The visiting
Egemen Dinçer Ferzan was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 37 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, BronsoN's
Knut Simonsen finally got himself booked for a foul. Grilled's
Mohd Marzuki Khairul was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposing area -
Joe Reece managed to kick one of them into the net for 2 - 4 after 39 minutes. With 41 minutes played, Grilled put themselves up 2 - 5 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
Chan Ze Han. With 42 minutes played, BronsoN's
Alaaddin Beşer received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. It was 2 - 5 at the break. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 54 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.
60 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul gave
Federico Parada a quick hug as he left the field. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Orest Tokarz came on for
Gandhik Chitre. Maybe it was because of his team's lead, or maybe it was due to the ease with which he broke down the left, but
Lim An Keng was a bit too sure of his talents, so instead of taking the easy tap-in goal after 63 minutes, he went for the backheel, which he put woefully wide. After 64 minutes, the excellent pass from the wing by Grilled's
Federico Parada reached
Joe Reece's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 2 - 6. 67 minutes into the match, BronsoN's
Roland Bergmann chased down a ball sent down the right and put it into the back of the net, narrowing the score to 3 - 6. Grilled's
Chad Thach received a ball slotted perfectly through the home side's central defense after 68 minutes, and chipped it past the helpless keeper to increase the lead to 3 - 7. The away fans won't regret traveling for this one! With the clock showing 85 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Joe Reece looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Ibnou Balde, though he would have liked to continue. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 beyond the regular 90 minutes. BronsoN had a brilliant opportunity to reply as
Knut Simonsen received a high ball from the right and hit it on the bounce.
Dimitris Germanakos's reflexes induced groans from the home crowd, though. 90 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 3 - 8 as
Aw Keng Chuan finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular bicycle kick. The match ends 3 - 8. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses and a Never2L8 tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. BronsoN's best player was
Denys Molokutsko. Good thing
Joakim Brøgger isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. The most outstanding Grilled player was without a doubt
Chan Ze Han. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by
Damian Hutter today.
