Phantasm 6 - 0 Grilled
57736 spectators had found their way to
Phantasm Hotspurs Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Aldis Indulēns was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nicolae Dunaev and
Cameron Mambour. The rain was pouring down, it was the kind of weather favoured by strong players who stick to simple football. For players blessed by speed or technical skills, the day really was as grim as for everyone else. Phantasm's starters:

The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Phantasm Hotspurs went for 4-5-1 while Grilled Birds has decided to play a 2-5-3 lineup. Grilled used their extra-terrestrial (16) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Phantasm's
Eng Chi Wei got himself booked for a foul. Following a collision in the 20, Grilled's
Chan Ze Han complained of a damaged shoulder. Eventually, he forced himself to continue the match anyway. After 24 minutes of play,
Kwek Rong Wei gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. Phantasm increased the lead as
Foong Seng Wee struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Phantasm's
Lim Kang Woon somehow missed a penalty 38 minutes into the match, much to the crowd's displeasure. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
With 55 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Phantasm resulted in a counterattack that set
Eng Chi Wei free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
Teo Chuan Yong would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Orest Tokarz entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 60 minutes. After 78 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
Foong Seng Wee gave the Phantasm supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0. A questionable free kick call just outside the home side's penalty area gave Grilled a chance at reducing the score 82 minutes into the match. In the end, the ball went wide. With 83 minutes played,
Cheong Leong Kiong of Phantasm fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Phantasm to 4 - 0 as
Masyhur Zulfadhli finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 85 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Kalki Parvathaneni came on for
Chan Ze Han. With
Chan Ze Han no longer on the pitch,
Kalki Parvathaneni became the new set pieces taker. As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
Kalki Parvathaneni took over the role of being the Grilled captain. The visitors got a chance to pull one back after 86 minutes, as the home defence went to sleep, leaving
Chad Thach completely unmarked in the middle. His strike was pathetic though, and dribbled into the arms of the home side's keeper.
Eng Chi Wei was first to reach a ball launched long through the center from Phantasm's defence 87 minutes into the game. He managed to keep his cool and beat the goalkeeper to make the score 5 - 0.
Prince Huang went down after twisting his right ankle after 88 minutes, and had to leave the pitch. The replacement for the injured player was
Muzaffar Fadhlurrahman. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Chad Thach gave
Gandhik Chitre a quick hug as he left the field.
Chia Kwang Tse managed to make an excellent pass from the wing, but
Lim An Keng was not as skillful and couldn't finish it off. After 89 minutes,
Foong Seng Wee put Phantasm ahead 6 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. This third goal completed a hattrick for
Foong Seng Wee. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 4 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 6 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
Phantasm's top performer was clearly
Masyhur Zulfadhli. On the other hand,
Sidqi Ghani's play was disheartening. Most important Grilled player was
Lim An Keng.
Damian Hutter on the other hand, had a terrible day.
