It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 63849 that came out to
The Cooking Pot.
Hamdi Omair Al-Majlaby was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Stefano Di Mambro and
Aki Merenluoto. It was a very hot day and some players suffered from this, especially those relying on tough physical play or a lot of fast runs. For the technical ones, on the other hand, this was ideal conditions. Grilled fielded:

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2. 6 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Grilled was
Federico Parada. 15 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Chan Ze Han broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Grilled. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Lim An Keng squirmed through their central defence after 16 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. Snohodez's
Tang Kiong Wei got himself booked for a foul. Grilled managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when
Chad Thach cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After 30 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Chan Ze Han might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Abhishek Kumar made a spectacular save. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.
Mohd Marzuki Khairul would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Chia Kwang Tse entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Ibnou Balde reluctantly made way for
Orest Tokarz on the pitch. Snohodez's
Lin Puay Feng startled
Austin Lee with an unexpected pass. Unfortunately, the receiver was too stunned by the play to convert the perfect setup into a goal. Grilled had a magnificent opportunity after 60 minutes as
Chia Kwang Tse hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. The score became 5 - 0 at 61 minutes into the game, when Grilled were given a penalty which
Chan Ze Han blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! It emerged that
Ler How Da had hurt his right foot after 65 minutes, which led him to abandon the game.
Mak Jia Choon had already been warming up, and came on for
Ler How Da. Grilled's
Joe Reece saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 70 minutes. Grilled put themselves up 6 - 0 when
Damian Hutter broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Snohodez's
Leow Jin Shun showed off his trademark ability to do the unexpected with a tricky pass after 77 minutes. Unfortunately,
Nic John was startled by the play and wasn't able to control the finish. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Aw Keng Chuan gave
Bhavya Panigrahi a quick hug as he left the field. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Bhavya Panigrahi increasing the lead to 7 - 0. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 7 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 80 percent of the ball.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Chan Ze Han. On the other hand,
Bhavya Panigrahi's play was disheartening. Snohodez's best player was
Austin Lee. However,
Mak Jia Choon made a disastrous appearance.
