A scorching day at Lawrence, KS FC Arena, where 49429 spectators were in place for today's match. Noah Kopp was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nicholas Opland and Anders Mathiasson. It was a sunny day and the Technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 5-3-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. For their match strategy, Lawrence, had decided to use their magical (18) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their titanic (15) level with that tactic. Ciro Audino was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Lawrence, counterattack from the left after 11 minutes. His neat finish made the score 1 - 0. Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni was shown a yellow card after 19 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. With 31 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Lawrence, resulted in a counterattack that set Frode Haugen free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. 35 minutes into the match Lawrence,'s Scott Pferdemarkt head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. 36 minutes into the game Grilled's Paulino Trindade found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 77 percent of the ball.

Chad Thach would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Chia Kwang Tse entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 46 minutes. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 52 minutes allowed Teo Chuan Yong to score for Grilled. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2. After 53 minutes, Grilled attempted an attack but had to cede the ball in frustration. They could not find their way through the mighty Frode Haugen, who acted as an effective roadblock on Lawrence,'s defensive midfield. 59 minutes into the game, Lawrence,'s Ciro Audino took a seemingly painful knock to his chest. However, he gritted his teeth and decided to play on. As the 70 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Bhavya Panigrahi reluctantly made way for Gilbert Webb on the pitch. With Bhavya Panigrahi no longer on the pitch, Chan Ze Han took over free kick duty. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Bilal Mohammad Harun came on for Kalki Parvathaneni. Around 73 minutes into the match, Frode Haugen used his impressive physique to maintain complete control over his defensive midfield. This caused an Grilled attack to fizzle out with a whimper. Lawrence,'s Frode Haugen got himself booked for a foul. The counterattacks of Lawrence, were deadly and 82 minutes into the game, Ciro Audino received a nice pass from the right flank, making it 2 - 2. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 2 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 76 percent of possession.

The most dominating Lawrence, player was without a doubt Joaquin Leiva. Foo Tse Ping turned in a dismal performance, however. Grilled's best player was Chan Ze Han. Teo Chuan Yong was a disappointment, however.
