Grilled 7 - 0 Burre

The spectators at the stadium today were in for an afternoon of sunshine. The weather was sunny, which meant perfect conditions for technical players in both teams. However, it was also quite warm, which meant quick or physically strong players were drained faster and couldn't play their best game. Lineup: Germanakos - Panigrahi, Webb - Baena, Mohammad Harun, Keng Chuan, Parvathaneni, Trindade - Ze Han, Velho, Xin Seng.

Starters: Piveteau - Fernández Larrinoa, Renim, Martiník - Gyárfás, Månsson, Szczepkowski, Hanemaayer, Henriksen - von Zahn, Ballon.

Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For AFC Burre, the formation of choice was a 3-5-2. Grilled clearly preferred using their utopian (19) ability to attack in the middle today. Burre seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, using their magnificent (12) ability to great effect. Grilled players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead. The visitors' central defense should have had no trouble clearing the pass to Gilbert Webb, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fire a low shot that 5-holed the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. 5 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as Kalki Parvathaneni ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 2 - 0 for Grilled. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 10 minutes on the clock after Władysław Szczepkowski's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Burre player a yellow card though. Chan Ze Han almost seemed to dance around Miroslav Martiník, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Grilled, his shot ended up on the wrong side of the post. Grilled solidified their lead at the 23 minute mark, as José Luiz Velho snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 3 - 0. After a play down the right 34 minutes into the match, Grilled's José Luiz Velho unleashed a ferocious shot that smashed into the roof of the net - after going over the crossbar. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 77 percent possession of the ball.

After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Kalki Parvathaneni off. Lim An Keng took his place. With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. José Luiz Velho looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Prokop Mottl, though he would have liked to continue. Grilled added another goal to their lead as Bilal Mohammad Harun struck home for 4 - 0 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. Grilled put themselves up 5 - 0 when Paulino Trindade broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive delegation behind him. Paulino Trindade increased Grilled's lead to 6 - 0, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. Chan Ze Han was able to squirm through the central defense after 73 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 7 - 0. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Bilal Mohammad Harun gave Chia Kwang Tse a quick hug as he left the field. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 beyond the regular 90 minutes. Miroslav Martiník seemed to fly off the ground as the corner came into the box, but his header went straight to the man on the post. Enrique Baena let loose a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. The match ends 7 - 0. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 79 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

Most important Grilled player was Chan Ze Han. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because Enrique Baena seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Burre's best player was Leon Luca Ballon. I can't remember Mátyás Gyárfás ever having a worse night than he just had.
