Grilled Birds fielded a 2-5-3 lineup. For Sarcastic Fringeheads, the formation of choice was 5-4-1. Grilled seemed to prefer attacking in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+7) (27) level with that tactic. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Fringeheads, taking advantage of their utopian (19) level with that tactic.
Bogdan Bărbulescu was well positioned to man mark
Chan Ze Han, and was able to take the edge off the Grilled player's game. Grilled's
Mateja Jeftić tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Grilled were very close to putting themselves one up after 19 minutes as
Chan Ze Han got through on the left. However, his concentration failed him, and he shot wide. Fringeheads's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 20 minutes gone, but
Mel Vayeshnoi's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Douglas Carapaica, but the Grilled player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! After 30 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Teo Chuan Yong might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Artur Rosa Gomes Oliveira made a spectacular save.
Gareth Illes managed to make an excellent pass from the wing, but
Finn Karlsson was not as skillful and couldn't finish it off. A penalty 34 minutes into the game gave the home side a chance at adding to the score, but an overconfident
Mateja Jeftić shot the ball wide trying to put it away in the top corner. Halftime score was 1 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.
After 55 minutes, the Fringeheads coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Vincent Chan off the field.
Ivan Borichev took his place.
Vincent Chan was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that
Andrej Apatič got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills.
Gareth Illes was the new captain of Fringeheads - handed the armband by the departing player.
Mateja Jeftić almost put Grilled ahead another goal when he curled a free kick over the defensive wall and almost into the net, but the visitors' keeper got there just in time to knock it wide. Fringeheads earned themselves a free kick after a counterattack wasn't dealt with adequately by their opponents.
Andrej Apatič powered the shot in for 1 - 1. 60 minutes into the game, Fringeheads wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
David Koppensteiner gave
Lillebror Bengtsson a quick hug as he left the field. After 66 minutes of play,
Bilal Mohammad Harun gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right.
Chan Ze Han should probably have put his team up another goal after 67 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by
Artur Rosa Gomes Oliveira kept the visitors in the game. With 75 minutes played, the Fringeheads coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
Heine Andreassen came on,
Finn Karlsson had to leave the fray.
Kalle ter Berg would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 85 minutes. The match ends 2 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.
Most important Grilled player was
Vikram Mudaliar. On the other hand,
Chan Ze Han's play was disheartening. Fringeheads's best player was
Marco Foppa. However,
Bogdan Bărbulescu made a disastrous appearance.
