Villains 4 - 1 Grilled

88827 punters turned up at Tarpots Rec., and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Essa Jaber Khalaf was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Agustín Sténeri and Anders Erskär. The match took place on neutral ground. Villains's lineup was: Ražić - Saad, 村井 (Murai), Hegger - Hanák, Huiet, Laurent, Sletner, Jian Yew - Klarič, Siczek.

The following players took the field for Grilled: Salmiņš - Lunde, Jeftić - ter Berg, Mohammad Harun, Xin Lee, Chuan Yong, Parvathaneni - Egan, Ze Han, Mudaliar.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 3-5-2 formation while the visitors instead opted for 2-5-3. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+8) (28) ability to attack in the middle. Pierre Laurent caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 6 minutes. This gave Villains the 1 - 0 lead. 17 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Jens Sletner broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Villains. After a short break after 17 minutes, Villains seemed to change their tactical approach a bit. After 17 minutes, the Villains players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game. Villains managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when Pierre Laurent cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Bogdan Siczek was in no condition to play on. He left the field limping after 26 minutes, with his right thigh bandaged. This gave Lee Hao Su a chance to take to the field instead. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, Timotej Klarič took over the role of being the Villains captain. Grilled certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but Vikram Mudaliar just wasn't able to finish. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

Sølve Lunde couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted Timotej Klarič as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for Villains - 4 - 0! As the 70 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Kalki Parvathaneni reluctantly made way for Salah Kamel on the pitch. The Grilled free kick 70 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of Bilal Mohammad Harun, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 4 - 1! 75 minutes in, Sølve Lunde made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but Zvjezdan Ražić refused to let the ball slip by him. Villains's Lee Hao Su saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 78 minutes. Chu Xin Lee would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 2 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 4 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

Villains's best player was Timotej Klarič. On the other hand, 裕次郎 (Yujiro) 村井 (Murai)'s play was disheartening. The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Chan Ze Han. Salah Kamel turned in a dismal performance, however.
