Grilled 9 - 1 crazy

We had overcast weather free of rain at the stadium today. The following players had been selected: Vadalà - Jaška, 中北 (Nakakita) - Mottl, Kamel, Chuan Yong, ter Berg, Velho - Parvathaneni, Ze Han, Xin Seng.

The following players took the field: Lahoud - Pucuhuayla, Gisaldi, Arana - Albarracín, Babo, Kuljevan, Ortega, Carvajulca - Terrones, Arnao.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for a 3-5-2. Grilled took a creative approach on the field. Like a mighty wizard in the hellish lair of the balrog, crazy is aiming to smother the Hephaestian flames of attack with inadequate (5) skill. Trespass is forbidden! Alas, Balrog, you shall not pass! Grilled took the lead 7 minutes in, as Salah Kamel broke through on the left and put his shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper, bringing the score to 1 - 0. Kalle ter Berg struck a 30 yard free kick home after 22 minutes. 2 - 0 for the home team. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) increased Grilled's lead to 3 - 0, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. Grilled put themselves up 4 - 0 when José Luiz Velho broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive delegation behind him. With 37 minutes played, a typically brave header by Grilled's Salah Kamel from José Luiz Velho's centered ball looped just over the opposing goalkeeper's desperate reach, making the score 5 - 0. The home team's lead was reduced to 5 - 1 after crazy's Erick Ortega took advantage of a misunderstanding in the center of the defense. 40 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as Chan Ze Han ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 6 - 1 for Grilled. The referee showed crazy's Sebastian Gisaldi the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 6 - 1 was the halftime score. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 70 percent possession of the ball.

46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Manuel Vadalà gave Cameron Law a quick hug as he left the field. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving José Luiz Velho off. Heng Dong Chu took his place. After 57 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by Chan Ze Han might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However, Orlando Lahoud made a spectacular save. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. Kalki Parvathaneni was able to squirm through the central defense after 58 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 7 - 1. With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Teo Chuan Yong looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Chu Xin Lee, though he would have liked to continue. Joaquín Arnao was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was perfectly redirected by Rafael Terrones, but the ball went off the post and out. Given a free kick from an impossible angle, Grilled went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let Chan Ze Han slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 8 - 1, 68 minutes into the game. It was announced by the fourth official that he estimated stoppage time to be around 3 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Chan Ze Han bringing the lead up to 9 - 1. That made three goals for Chan Ze Han. He'll be taking the match ball home with him having scored a hattrick! Salah Kamel should probably have put his team up another goal after 90 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by Orlando Lahoud kept the visitors in the game. The match ends 9 - 1. Well, look at this! Cardi B is on the Enormotron in naught but giant sunglasses, red tassles, and a Holy Hand Grenades of Antioch tank top. I've not seen anything like it before. Most important Grilled player was Chan Ze Han. Speaking of stinking up the place, Cameron Law sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. crazy's best player was Rafael Terrones. Good thing Orlando Lahoud isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance.
