Grilled 3 - 2 Haha

82771 punters turned up at The Cooking Pot, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Francisco Prazeres was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alfredo Escalona and Mohammed Al-Hamed. The following players had been chosen by Grilled: Salmiņš - Lunde, Webb - 敬龙 (Jinglong), Kamel, Mohammad Harun, Chuan Yong, Dong Chu - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Xin Lee.

Haha's starters: Teani - Ze Xin, Tian Jin, Parguiña, Gudivada, Viroux - Corbean, Belaîdi, Barboza - Valdayo, Ghiringhelli.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 5-3-2. For their match strategy, Haha had decided to use their magical (18) ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Grilled had a good opportunity to take the lead as Gilbert Webb came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of Giuseppe Teani. Haha mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 12 minutes, but Félix Valdayo was unable to convert from short range. Grilled's Chan Ze Han tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Grilled took the lead 22 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Haha's Aw Tian Jin was shown a yellow card after 27 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Haha were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 31 minutes, Roger Viroux swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.

At 52 minutes played, Chan Ze Han came in from the right with the intention of giving Grilled the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. Haha's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing Félix Valdayo to score easily from the right flank for 1 - 2. After 61 minutes, Salah Kamel made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 2 - 2. 65 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) gave Kalle ter Berg a quick hug as he left the field. 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) was coming off, and had placed his last free kick for the day. That meant that Kalle ter Berg got the chance to showcase his dead ball skills. After 70 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Gilbert Webb off the field. Mateja Jeftić took his place. Grilled had a chance to take the lead after Chan Ze Han's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 74 minutes. As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 1 minute as stoppage time. Grilled took the lead 89 minutes in, as Vikram Mudaliar broke through on the left and put the 3 - 2 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. The match ends 3 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 77 percent of the ball.

Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. Mateja Jeftić was a disappointment, however. Most important Haha player was Giuseppe Ghiringhelli. On the other hand, Miguel Parguiña's play was disheartening.
