Grilled 6 - 0 Academy
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 4016 to
The Cooking Pot.
Toni Boellaard was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Herlander Maia and
Witold Zglinicki. The weather was sunny, which meant perfect conditions for technical players in both teams. However, it was also quite warm, which meant quick or physically strong players were drained faster and couldn't play their best game. Grilled fielded:
Law -
Lunde,
Webb -
敬龙 (Jinglong),
Kamel,
Mohammad Harun,
Chuan Yong,
Jaška -
Mottl,
Egan,
Velho.
The following players had been chosen by Academy:
Robbiano -
Socci,
Carrano,
Pol,
Patritti -
Petricola,
Theodorsen,
Barcula,
Tantera -
Pool,
Bizzini.
The teams had chosen different formations for the match. Home team Grilled Birds went for 2-5-3 while Cool Ones Academy has decided to play a 4-4-2 lineup. Grilled took a mythical (17) creative approach on the field. 17 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Grilled was
Bilal Mohammad Harun. 24 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Prokop Mottl broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Grilled. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Lennard Pol from Academy a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 26 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A lovely run by Grilled's
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) left his markers for dead and should have resulted in a goal, but the finish went just wide. Cheers filled the stadium as
Bernie Egan broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Grilled. 39 minutes into the game, Academy had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to solid (7). Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
José Luiz Velho squirmed through their central defence after 40 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. 41 minutes in, Academy appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only solid (7). 42 minutes into the match,
Teo Chuan Yong could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. Coming from the right,
Prokop Mottl almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Academy's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 44 minutes gone, but
Roberto Bizzini's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 76 percent of the ball.
A review of the gameplan helped Academy get back to a solid (7) organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) off the field.
Kalki Parvathaneni took his place. After 64 minutes, Grilled's
Teo Chuan Yong found the back of the goal with a beautiful free kick. 5 - 0. With 67 minutes played,
Roberto Bizzini of Academy fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
José Luiz Velho unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Bilal Mohammad Harun increasing the lead to 6 - 0. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Gilbert Webb gave
悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) a quick hug as he left the field.
Radovan Jaška would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
Yee Jian Hui entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 88 minutes. It was announced by the referee that he estimated stoppage time to be around 2 minutes. This meant there could still be an extra attack or two left in the match! The match ends 6 - 0. Grilled had most of the ball, with 80 percent of possession.
Grilled's top performer was clearly
Bilal Mohammad Harun.
Cameron Law was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Academy player was without a doubt
Francesco Robbiano.
Dimas Barcula on the other hand, had a terrible day.
