Grilled 4 - 5 Fredrikshovsgatan

Dark skies made the crowd at the stadium today a little nervous, but the rain held off. Lineup: Salmiņš - Panigrahi, Jeftić - Chuan Yong, Xin Seng, Mohammad Harun, Kamel, Parvathaneni - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Egan.

Starters: Rohweddell - Mastai, Dymek, Bambynek - Cheval, Andrade Dias, Brštiak, Ucur, Dinkelmann - Campanalonga, Wachtmann.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for a 3-5-2. Grilled clearly preferred using their divine (+7) (27) ability to attack in the middle today. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. Kalki Parvathaneni's name was chanted throughout the stadium after his goal in minute 11 following a run up the middle gave Grilled the 1 - 0 lead. Köbi 'Wingman' Dinkelmann really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great flick by Vital Andrade Dias after a corner. The visitors got just what they'd been looking for after 31 minutes when Vital Andrade Dias received a pass from the left and buried it in the bottom corner, leveling it at 1 - 1. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 34 minutes into the match left Fredrikshovsgatan's Cem Ali Ucur completely free to score. 1 - 2 for the visitors. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they directed a break on the wing into the center of the park. With a shot lofted in from just outside the penalty area 37 minutes in, Bhavya Panigrahi of Grilled evened the score to 2 - 2. After 42 minutes, Fredrikshovsgatan put themselves up 2 - 3, as Elmar 'Wise Man' Wachtmann finished off a play from the left with a real rocket. Fredrikshovsgatan's Nunzio 'Don Juan' Mastai was shown a yellow card after 44 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 2 - 3 was the halftime score. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.

With the clock showing 60 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board. Bhavya Panigrahi looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for Gilbert Webb, though he would have liked to continue. Showing that he’s been around the block once or twice, Chan Ze Han scored to make it 3 - 3 for Grilled after putting some pressure on the enemy defense at a critical moment. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle instead. After 75 minutes cheers broke out as Chan Ze Han found his way through the guests' central defensive line, rattling the 4 - 3 goal in off the woodwork for Grilled. Feeling like a boy about to meet his girlfriend's father for the first time, the inexperienced Grilled struggled to maintain their level of play after 76 minutes. The visiting team's Milan 'Muppet' Brštiak was able to score the 4 - 4 equalizer with a header 77 minutes in, after some good work on the right. After 80 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving Kalki Parvathaneni off. 吴 (Wu) 敬龙 (Jinglong) took his place. 80 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Bilal Mohammad Harun gave Kalle ter Berg a quick hug as he left the field. The fourth official announced that there would be 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. A mistake by the home side's central defense after 90 minutes allowed Yann 'Fast Foot' Cheval to score for Fredrikshovsgatan. The visitors have the lead, 4 - 5. The match ends 4 - 5. Grilled did a good job holding on to the ball, with 53 percent of possession. We'll be back after these interminable commercial messages.

Grilled's best player was Chan Ze Han. Good thing Teo Chuan Yong isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Milan 'Muppet' Brštiak performed admirably for Fredrikshovsgatan. Speaking of stinking up the place, Andrzej 'The Dick' Dymek sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
