The teams had chosen different formations for the match. The home team, Grilled Birds, went for a 2-5-3, while India Power has decided to play a 2-4-2 lineup. 34 minutes into the game, IP seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a weak (4) level of organization. 35 minutes into the match, the Speedy Gonzalez-like
Vikram Mudaliar easily outran
Vasil Krutev to knock in the 1 - 0 goal. With 39 minutes played,
Chan Ze Han could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Cheers filled the stadium as
Salah Kamel broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 2 - 0 goal for Grilled. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Teo Chuan Yong bringing the lead up to 3 - 0. 44 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as
Chan Ze Han ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 4 - 0 for Grilled. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 66 percent possession of the ball.
IP's coach had to raise his voice a little, but he also managed to raise his players' organization to passable (6) after reviewing his strategy.
Mateja Jeftić increased Grilled's lead to 5 - 0, connecting with a hooked ball from the right. The away fans are claiming handball, to no avail. After 53 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as IP found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to passable (6). 56 minutes in, IP appeared unsure on how to play and their organization was only inadequate (5). Grilled solidified their lead at the 57 minute mark, as
Bernie Egan snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 6 - 0. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signaled for a Grilled substitution.
Gilbert Webb came on for
Bhavya Panigrahi. The IP players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. As the game started to slip away for IP, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. After a play down the right 71 minutes into the match, Grilled's
Kalki Parvathaneni unleashed a ferocious shot that smashed into the roof of the net - after going over the crossbar. After 77 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
Teo Chuan Yong might have resulted in another goal for Grilled. However,
Uğur Yılmaz made a spectacular save. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors.
Vikram Mudaliar was able to squirm through the central defense after 83 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 7 - 0. 84 minutes into the game, IP seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak (4). With the clock showing 89 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Bilal Mohammad Harun looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Radovan Jaška, though he would have liked to continue. The fourth official announced that there would be 3 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 7 - 0. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 68 percent of possession.
Grilled's best player was
Chan Ze Han. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Radovan Jaška seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The most outstanding IP player was without a doubt
Josep Vallbona. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Rien Nooten sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
