Grilled 7 - 1 Partizans
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 4633 that came out to
The Cooking Pot.
张 (Zhang) 坤江 (Kunjiang) was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Sammy Droessaert and
Gustaw Loba. For some players the sunny weather was bad news. It made Powerful and Quick players a bit sluggish. For Technical players, it was instead an advantage, allowing them to shine on the pitch. The following players took the field for Grilled:
Vadalà -
Jaška,
Mottl -
Künzler,
Webb,
Mohammad Harun,
Panigrahi,
Muthyala -
敬龙 (Jinglong),
Mudaliar,
Ze Han.
Partizans's starters:
Uysal -
Sahle,
Tola,
Melkie,
佐々木 (Sasaki),
Delsho -
Montonen,
Pappila -
Elias,
Alemayhu Alanbo,
Alemayehu.
Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Partizans of Liberty, chose to start the game with a 5-2-3 lineup. 16 minutes in, the referee awarded Grilled a penalty.
Bhavya Panigrahi coolly slotted it home for a 1 - 0 lead. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Grilled's
Neeraj Muthyala somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
Chan Ze Han, who struck for 2 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's
Bilal Mohammad Harun increasing the lead to 3 - 0. Grilled's
Cyril Künzler had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to
Gilbert Webb who somehow managed to curl the ball wide.
Vikram Mudaliar could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 33 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
Aschalew Tola from Partizans a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Grilled managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when
Chan Ze Han cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. It was 4 - 0 at the break. Grilled had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.
46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Manuel Vadalà gave
Louis Vara a quick hug as he left the field. 46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution.
Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid came on for
Prokop Mottl.
Neeraj Muthyala had a fantastic opportunity to put Grilled up another goal 51 minutes into the match after a pass through the middle set him free, but he fired just over the crossbar. Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid squirmed through their central defence after 53 minutes, increasing the lead to 5 - 0. After 70 minutes, the Partizans coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Terno Montonen off the field.
Arkadiusz Budak took his place. As
Terno Montonen left the field, the coach signaled to
祐輔 (Yosuke) 佐々木 (Sasaki) to be the new set pieces taker.
Arkadiusz Budak was the new captain of Partizans - handed the armband by the departing player.
Bhavya Panigrahi increased Grilled's lead to 6 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball. As the 75 minute mark approached, the Partizans coach decided it was time for a substitution.
Tapani Pappila reluctantly made way for
Pepe Martínez on the pitch. 78 minutes into the match
Bhavya Panigrahi put Grilled ahead 7 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick. At that,
Bhavya Panigrahi was noted down for a hat trick! As the match nears its end, the referee has deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time.
Seyoum Melkie was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Partizans's
Girma Sahle managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 7 - 1 Coming from the right,
Gilbert Webb almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. The match ends 7 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
Most important Grilled player was
Chan Ze Han. However,
Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid made a disastrous appearance. Partizans's best player was
祐輔 (Yosuke) 佐々木 (Sasaki).
Dagim Delsho turned in a dismal performance, however.
