Arrogancae started the game in a 4-5-1 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+7) level with that tactic. 7 minutes into the game,
Chan Ze Han almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Arrogancae took the lead 10 minutes in, as
Gisbert Odewald broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. Grilled tied it all up, 18 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
Vikram Mudaliar, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 1 - 1.
Cristian Marra looked great 35 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
Chan Ze Han. The visiting
Chan Ze Han was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 39 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 1 - 2 was the score. 40 minutes into the match, Arrogancae's
Hossein Chatrazar maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 2 - 2. Halftime score was 2 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
Grilled's
Kalle ter Berg gave the visitors a 2 - 3 lead after 47 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Arrogancae's
Jan Tim Liebenstein was shown a yellow card after 53 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
With the scoreboard showing that 59 minutes had been played, Grilled nearly put themselves up another goal after
Gilbert Webb came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. 69 minutes into the game, Arrogancae seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. 70 minutes into the game,
Gisbert Odewald came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 74 minutes, Grilled tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
Bernie Egan came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
Cristian Marra but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. 89 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
Kalle ter Berg gave
Cyril Knzler a quick hug as he left the field. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 2 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
Arrogancae's top performer was clearly
Gisbert Odewald. On the other hand,
Jan Tim Liebenstein's play was disheartening.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled.
Salah Kamel turned in a dismal performance, however.
