Zapad 1 - 4 Grilled
It was a sunny day at the stadium today. It was a sunny day and the technical players could roll the ball around with ease. Those that had to chase after the ball found the weather less appealing, it especially stymied the game of Powerful and Quick players. Starters:

The coaches were in sync today, as both teams lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. Grilled used their divine (+7) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the field. The guests almost went up by a goal with 8 minutes elapsed when
Bernie Egan came through from the right. The shot bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
Kalki Parvathaneni's speed was almost enough to give Grilled a goal after 10 minutes, but his nice pass to
Chan Ze Han was not taken care of properly. It was obvious that Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle when they directed a break on the wing into the center of the park. 0 - 1 was the score after 11 minutes, when Grilled's
Chan Ze Han cut through the central defense and pounded one in. With 12 minutes played, Zapad's
Sadik 'Snajperi' Kasa received a yellow card for challenging a play with his cleats first. 14 minutes into the game,
Kristijan 'Stena' Shterjovski came close to leveling the score with a dangerous shot from the center of the area that went just over the bar. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Grilled set the tempo, maintaining 57 percent of possession.
After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the field, waving
Salah Kamel off.
Cyril Künzler took his place. With the clock showing 46 minutes, the fourth official held up the substitution board.
Chu Xin Lee looked to see that it was his number in red, so he made his way over to the sideline and swapped out for
Heng Dong Chu, though he would have liked to continue. The game had been going for 48 minutes when
Kalki Parvathaneni broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2 for Grilled, much to the home crowd's dismay. Only after several tries were Zapad able to break through on the left 49 minutes in, getting the ball to
Redi 'Metak' Zajmi who cockily put away the goal to make the score 1 - 2. After 57 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
Bilal Mohammad Harun who increased Grilled's lead to 1 - 3.
Bernie Egan somehow managed to break free of his man on the left wing and only needed a relatively easy finish to bring Grilled's lead up to 1 - 4. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot from the right by
Chan Ze Han beat the keeper with 72 minutes played, preventing Grilled from going up another goal. As the match nears its end, the referee deemed it appropriate to add 2 minutes as stoppage time. The match ends 1 - 4. Grilled had the upper hand in possession, maintaining an impressive 55 percent possession of the ball.
Zapad's top performer was clearly
Redi 'Metak' Zajmi. Speaking of stinking up the place,
Goran 'Debeliot' Tupurkovski sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because
Bhavya Panigrahi seemed to stumble all over the pitch.
