Grilled Birds entered the field in a 2-5-3 formation. The visitors, Benfleet Branch, chose to start the game with a 3-5-2 lineup. Grilled used their divine (+5) ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The wings were the focus of most of Benfleet's attacks on this day, taking advantage of their magical level with that tactic. With 2 minutes played Kalki Parvathaneni almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. They were singing the praises of Bernie Egan 21 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Grilled. Grilled's Cyril Künzler had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to Heng Dong Chu who somehow managed to curl the ball wide. It was obvious that team Grilled had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grilled's Bernie Egan increasing the lead to 2 - 0. The score became 3 - 0 at 32 minutes into the game, when Grilled were given a penalty which Cyril Künzler blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Cheers filled the stadium as Neeraj Muthyala broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Grilled. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

As the 46 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) reluctantly made way for Bhavya Panigrahi on the pitch. Kalki Parvathaneni should probably have put his team up another goal after 57 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Edward Dare kept the visitors in the game. Grilled's Cyril Künzler struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 5 - 0 after 79 minutes. 80 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Benfleet substitution. György Oláh came on for Catarino Dias Reis. Vikram Mudaliar would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Prokop Mottl entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 89 minutes. After 89 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving Kalki Parvathaneni off the field. José Luiz Velho took his place. The referee announced 2 minutes of stoppage time, giving fans a slim hope that their team could get one more attack in before this was all over. The match ends 5 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Grilled, with 69 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Grilled player was without a doubt Bernie Egan. Bhavya Panigrahi was a disappointment, however. Most important Benfleet player was Bran Lume. Edward Dare turned in a dismal performance, however.
