TBV 6 - 5 Grilled
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 6064 to
Shipwreck Field.
Hugh Woodhouse was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Dial Tiracra and
Roberto Granato. For some players the sunny weather was bad news. It made Powerful and Quick players a bit sluggish. For Technical players, it was instead an advantage, allowing them to shine on the pitch. TBV's lineup was:
淮强 (Huaiqiang) -
Bigaglia,
Shur,
Vaiflo -
Somaschini,
Sipolainen,
Al-Hubeishy,
Fallah,
Kalliokuusi -
Bokrosi,
Ribelles.
The following players had been chosen by Grilled:
Vadalà -
Abdul Majid,
中北 (Nakakita) -
Thevar,
Webb,
Jaška,
Panigrahi,
Mottl -
Ze Han,
Velho,
Davlatov.
The Telegraph Bay Vikings fielded a 3-5-2 lineup. For Grilled Birds, the formation of choice was 2-5-3. TBV took a magical creative approach on the field. Grilled showed off their supernatural creative tactics.
马 (Ma) 淮强 (Huaiqiang) looked great 29 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
Bhavya Panigrahi. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
Marc Ribelles, but the TBV player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! TBV put themselves up 2 - 0 when
Teijo Kalliokuusi broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in TBV's
Áron Bokrosi increasing the lead to 3 - 0. Things were deteriorating for the away team as TBV scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
Marc Ribelles after 39 minutes. 40 minutes into the match, the technically gifted
Chan Ze Han of Grilled scored 4 - 1, having made
Giulio Bigaglia look like a complete fool. 4 - 1 was the score after the first half. TBV enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
After 46 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
Mohd Jafni Abdul Majid off the field.
Jérémy Tarin took his place.
Prokop Mottl almost seemed to dance around
Ville Sipolainen, his movements were so smooth. Unfortunately for Grilled, his finish ended up on the wrong side of the post. The visitors replied 72 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 4 - 2, as
Prokop Mottl dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. 83 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as
Radovan Jaška anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 4 - 3. The crowd was silenced 85 minutes into the match as the visiting team's
José Luiz Velho came in from the left, levelling the score to 4 - 4. Grilled's
Chan Ze Han excelled in some fine tricks that completely confused
Ville Sipolainen - and the finish was no less spectacular - 4 - 5! The crowd was on its feet 87 minutes into the match, as TBV's
Onofrio Vaiflo found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 5 - 5 equaliser. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes.
Giulio Bigaglia caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 90 minutes. This gave TBV the 6 - 5 lead. 90 minutes into the game, TBV's
马 (Ma) 淮强 (Huaiqiang) rolled over in pain after taking a forceful blow to his upper chest. After bandaging his collarbone, the medics led him off the field. The replacement for the injured player was
Savaş Taşdemir. The match ends 6 - 5. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by TBV, with 53 percent of the ball.
Most important TBV player was
Onofrio Vaiflo. However,
Giulio Bigaglia made a disastrous appearance.
Chan Ze Han performed admirably for Grilled.
Jérémy Tarin turned in a dismal performance, however.
