Grilled 3 - 1 KingofNoobs

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 80460 to The Cooking Pot. Gamba Mutasa was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Phạm Ngô Cầu and Harmen-Jan Muns. Lineup: Dob - Webb, 中北 (Nakakita) - Künzler, Xin Lee, Mohammad Harun, Muthyala, Dong Chu - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Davlatov.

Starters: Coleman - Pawełczuk, Al-Shanfary, Budak - Ermolovich, Rivadeneira, Guevara, Keng Jing, Auner - 阿久根 (Akune), Pivovarský.

It was to be a contest between two different football philosophies, since the home team started the game with a 2-5-3 formation while the visitors instead opted for 3-5-2. Grilled mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle, taking advantage of their divine (+4) level with that tactic. KingofNoobs were relying on their magnificent ability to counter-attack. They were singing the praises of Chan Ze Han 9 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Grilled. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Grilled, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. 16 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Cyril Künzler broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Grilled. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. Gilbert Webb squirmed through their central defence after 23 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. Chu Xin Lee could have put Grilled up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 30 minutes. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Grilled, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

A bit later, KingofNoobs's Ömer Budak easily reduced the lead to 3 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. Coming from the right, Cyril Künzler almost managed to score another goal for Grilled, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. After 60 minutes, the Grilled coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) off the field. Bhavya Panigrahi took his place. Chan Ze Han was handed the Grilled captain's armband. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Grilled coach decided it was time for a substitution. Islom Davlatov reluctantly made way for Bernie Egan on the pitch. Grilled had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Chan Ze Han should probably have put his team up another goal after 67 minutes after breaking through the middle, but some great goalkeeping by Finn Coleman kept the visitors in the game. A great save by keeper Finn Coleman after 68 minutes kept the visitors in the game after Chu Xin Lee struck from the left with a real cannonball. With 71 minutes played, Chan Ze Han could have brought this one home for Grilled as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. Vikram Mudaliar would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. Kalki Parvathaneni entered the game for Grilled as the match clock showed 75 minutes. The swift technical skills of Chan Ze Han were often too much for the tall but somewhat slow Xerardo Rivadeneira who was humiliated after 75 minutes. He'll be breathing a huge sigh of relief after the final shot went wide. The players were tired, but when the referee announced that there would be 2 minutes of added time they, nonetheless, welcomed the extra opportunity to make an impact. The match ends 3 - 1. Grilled claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.

Grilled's best player was Kalki Parvathaneni. Bhavya Panigrahi on the other hand, had a terrible day. KingofNoobs's top performer was clearly 聖也 (Seiya) 阿久根 (Akune). However, Ömer Budak made a disastrous appearance.
