Agharti 5 - 2 Grilled

The rain was pouring down at the stadium today. The wet pitch made it difficult for technical or quick players to stand out. For once, the players relying on physical strength gained the upper hand. Starters: O'Dwyer - Barry, O'Sullivan, Leahy - Regan, Tobin, Tambling, O'Neill, O'Brien - Sheehan, Devro.

They fielded: Dob - Webb, 中北 (Nakakita) - Künzler, Xin Seng, Mohammad Harun, Davlatov, Romijn - Mudaliar, Ze Han, Parvathaneni.

Agharti 23 FC started the game in a 3-5-2 formation, whereas Grilled Birds lined up in a 2-5-3 formation. 3 minutes into the match, the speedy Vikram Mudaliar easily outpaced Nathaniel Leahy, chipped the keeper and made the score 0 - 1. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 10 minutes played, Nathaniel Leahy of Agharti made the score 1 - 1. Steve Barry received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 24 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Grilled's Kalki Parvathaneni gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 26 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Agharti's Jeffrey Tobin made a successful breakthrough on the left after 27 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Grilled enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

46 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Grilled substitution. Bernie Egan came on for Islom Davlatov. 46 minutes into the game, Grilled wanted to bring some new energy to their game. Kalki Parvathaneni gave Chu Xin Lee a quick hug as he left the field. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 53 minutes into the match, an alert Kingsley Sheehan bagged the ball for Agharti, levelling the score to 2 - 2. After 65 minutes, the visitors nearly went up a goal, but Cyril Künzler's free kick hit the crossbar. Agharti fans held their breath as Jeffrey Tobin scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 3 - 2! Agharti solidified their lead at the 73 minute mark, as Freddie Regan dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 2. 74 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as Peter Tambling broke through, making the score 5 - 2 for Agharti. The referee decided to let play continue for an additional 3 minutes beyond the regular 90 minutes. The match ends 5 - 2. Grilled had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

The most dominating Agharti player was without a doubt Maurice Devro. However, Freddie Regan made a disastrous appearance. Grilled's best player was Chu Xin Lee. 悠太 (Yuta) 中北 (Nakakita) on the other hand, had a terrible day.
